Taming the Flames - Level 8 Quest
Zone: House Kundarak
Get Quest at: The Ever Full Flagon, Granted by Master Thorpe

For all you folks level 3 and above out there, here is a way to make 15-20k xp in under an hour. Here's the deal.

If you are flush with cash, you can do this solo. Ideally, you should have one wizard and one fighter. Or you can take a full group. The one MUST is having a Wizard or other who can grant you fire immunity. Haste is also helpful if you wish to run the quest quickly. So if you want to run this solo, you can do so......you'll just need to lay out the cash for the fire resistance and haste potions (900g each).

Basically the "Taming the Flames" quest is a dungeon packed with lava, fire spouting everywhere and 100% fire mobs. If you have fire immunity, you get the picture........you can't be damaged!

So basically, the dungeon itself is very small. You get yourself fire immunity, and haste if you wish to complete it quicker. Run through the dungeon, ignoring ALL mobs. Open the first door at the bottom of the lava pit (feel free to jump into the lava and just run up to it.....you are fire immune).

You will run past a door after you open the initial door at the bottom of the fire pit. It will be on your right. Pass this and various fire elementals. Pass this door and speak to Master Fulvio at the end of the hallway. He will ask you to kill the madman in the dungeon. This madman is located at the door you just passed. Next to Fulvio is another lever (atop some rocks) pull this lever and head in and take out the madman. After killing the madman, grab the scroll he drops and return it to Master Fulvio around the corner. Voila! Quest is finished. When you get good at this it can be done in as little as 30 seconds.

You can do this quest on Elite, and initially get 1.3k-2.2k xp in just under 45 second. Rinse..........repeat until you run out of XP. I received about 15k xp in under 45 minutes running this with one wizard. Just remmeber if the elementals block together,

Also note, if you do not have haste you may need to reapply fire resistance. Fire resistance only lasts 1:30, so if you are unable to take down the madman (who is a wizard) quickly you may need to reapply to avoid fire damage.

Have fun with this, no better XP in the game between level 3-7 if you haven't done it before. Max this out!

If you buy a potion, buy the one at 900 that was explained above, it's important.
If you are with a cleric, ask for the immune fire, the one that lasts for 1:40

The mage at the end has a nasty "one-kill" spell, Phantasmic xxx, so, rush to him, and try to interrupt that
If not... bye bye
I got killed 2 times, on 8 runs

Also, once you have retreived the scroll, gave it to the npc, if you are afraid to be interrupted while recall, go again to the Mage room, and on the left, you can go up the stones and recall safelly.

I admit I did the quest more for the rewards, then for the experience

I've ran this quest, or should I say farmed, 45 times tonight. Made about 2,500pp in around 3 hours, plus about 10 uber level 3 wands I've kept. I've got it down to 1:40 per run by myself, with very few deaths. I'm a lvl 5 wizard & this is what I used:

Feats: Extend Spell & Quicken Spell
Spells: Fire Protection, Haste & False Life
Armor: Deathward Robe (Makes you immune to all death spells)
