This information was already on the forums but Blizzard has given the ability to buy back up to 10 items.

Buy 5 combat potions, sell those back. Buy four more combat potions and the buy back the 5 you already sold. That is 9 combat potions.

Buy 4 more then sell those back and from any vendor you can pick up those four when you need them
