Exclamation WoW Quest Item Dupe!!

This can be done with any quest that yields an item reward.

Process:

1. Interact with the target NPC offering the quest reward,
2. Do not click any buttons in the dialog!
3. Next step move back from the NPC until the quest dialog is automatically closed.
4. Rinse and Repeat the following until you have a good feel of the max distance you're able to keep the dialog open.

Now this is the tricky part.

You have to click the reward confirmation button JUST before you leave the interaction distance (see above). If done correctly you will obtain the quest item and be able to receive it again by repeating the above steps.

This works because quest completion is broken into 3 parts.
- Item is given to 'Player'
- Quest is removed from 'Player' database
- 'Player' is given gold and XP.

Notes:

"You could basically do the same quest once, but recieve the rewards for completing it many times? Is it trackable by blizz?"

Maybe, If you did it to get the reward an absurd amount of times they might punish you for taking advantage of an exploit. Doing it once or twice I doubt they would have enough information to track you since it can happen by accident.

Yes, they can track it. Back in the beta some friends and I went to Designer's Island and harvested a ton of items. Once we were caught, Blizzard was able to see and remove every item and piece of copper we had made from it. If they have the ability to see when and where a character got an item, they can see you exploited this. This is ESPECIALLY true if you it is an item you can only get from this quest...they it is extremely easy for them to track you. So if you use this, don't over use it. Perhaps get every item twice rather than every item a million times.

"Hmm, What if you forcibly close the window immediatly after clicking the confirmation? I wonder if that would work, but perhaps you have to be out of interaction range."

When you leave the interaction range it sets a boolean value on the character I assume. (a blind guess btw)

Code:

If ( Entity.CanInteract(PktFromPlayer()) )

In some ways you could call it a race condition, similar to the Diablo II telekineses dupe.

"Hmm, What if you forcibly close the window immediatly after clicking the confirmation? I wonder if that would work, but perhaps you have to be out of interaction range."

Closing the window would do nothing since the packet saying you accepted the quest item would still reach the server and the server would still see you not only meet the quest requirements but you are also within range. This exploit works because the server recieves the accept packet and see's you are 100% valid, gives you your item, then you move away, it see's you are not valid for quest completion, and viola - you can repeat!
