I was using this a lot in Ahn'Qiraj 40, but when we killed the boss, I couldn't loot the Qiraji Lord's Insignia.

Can anyone see if the mob is lootable if the mob is fought, and is killed AFTER rez bugging by that person?

I'm pretty sure the boss is still lootable, though, because running back from the graveyard into the instance also negates the insignia loot. Just a heads up.

Yes This is a thing with AQ, if you are dead as a spirit and the mob dies you do not get the rep or the abbility to loot the quest items. You can see the loot cause you were there origianlly to tag the mob with the raid. I found this out the hard way. I was the only person dead after killing the first boss in AQ40 man and when i got back i could see the loot on the body but everyone in the raid was able to pick up the insignia besides me. Also i didnt get the rep either. So make sure you are either dead and not released or alive when a boss in AQ40 dies for your rep! Hope they fix that shit, being dead and not getting rep sucks.

Just wanted to say that this still works, however after testing a fair bit it looks like you have to have some memory intensive addons to make this work smoothly every time.
What I mean is that this was tested with a UI that only uses about 38-42MB memory max and a UI that used about 50-60 depending on OnDemand loading. What I found was that I was unable to replicate it at all with Standard WoW UI, Got it working once out of 10 times with 38-42MB UI, and lastly the UI with "heavy" load worked every time I did it.
NB! You will some times zone out of the instance and fall through the earth which causes you to die and you will have to run to a spirit healer, res and run back to the instance.

Hope this will help some of you

ps: I also found that it works perfectly (with heavy load) when you release on 1sec exactly or right after 2 counts down to 1 .

pps: this may vary from computer to computer also Just try to use addons that use a fair bit of memory and I am pretty sure you will be able to get this working.

I think this was fixed with the hot fix for the jumping up in the air trick. Before the server did their reset, i could do the dead rez trick everytime, i never botched it. Now its almost instant loading screen. Think this one is fixed.
