As soon as your pet gets feared, just hit the follow me command, and then re-attack. Your pet will be unfeared and back to attacking your target.
Ctrl+2 to make pet follow you aka cancel fear.
Also, if you are a Warlock and you click the follow key when you (the Warlock) get feared the fear will cancel.

This is can now be considered confirmed, as I'm a class-locked Wowie; Hunter all the way. I've found that re-applying your pet also works to help your pet grab aggro again.
