Here's a trick I found while helping out a new player with a Trial Account. Under normal circumstances you cannot trade with a Trial Member. That includes Mailing them in-game. I was helping this guy out, and wanted to give him some gold for lvl 1 and 3 equipment, only to find that I couldn't open a trade window.
However, if you want to, you can party with the person, then use the /split command to give them money.
I used "/split 100000", and since only me and him were in party, it gave him 5 gold. =) /cheer
Though the usefulness of this is limited, it can be helpful, and it can certainly help a new player decide to keep playing.

As far as i'm aware of.. the trial limits dont work.. pre-1.9.0 i made a character on a trial account and 5 days later i bought some gold off a site forgetting i'm only on a trial account.. i could open the mail and take the money.. then on the day of activation when i had to put my retail key in.. i realized my character was level 22

This no longer works as of the latest patch. Split has been removed, and it pops up an error. Too bad, too. My friend's on the trial and I would've liked to help him out a bit. Mark this as fixed.
i saw on a site some where saying that if you got someone to type /split 30000000 then thast like 300g that they give u so you can use it as a scam, but since it dosent work any more you cant do that
